ClerkBooks, Inc. is currently accepting applications/resumes for the Accounting Support Representative position.
This person will support/train/mentor Municipal Clerks, Treasurers, Administrators and Council Members from 200+ Cities, Villages and Towns across 26 States.
Relocation is not necessary. All work, and training, will be performed remotely through the internet.
Duties include: troubleshooting accounting records, software installation, company file set-up and configuration, data conversion, knowledge base article creation and editing, and other customer service related tasks. Training will be provided.
Applicants must demonstrate a solid knowledge of accounting principles including an understanding governmental funds, debits & credits, cash vs accrual accounting, payables & receivables, payroll & sales tax liabilities and journal entries. You must also have experience with, and a moderate to advanced level knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel. Local government fund accounting, utility billing and/or governmental auditing experience (such as a City Treasurer or City Auditor) is also required. An Accounting Certificate is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with accounting courses, is preferred.
Since you will be working directly with customers, you must be able to work well with others, be socially perceptive, an active listener, able to manage time well, and able to teach others. You must possess excellent oral and written comprehension along with mathematical reasoning. You will also need to be able to multi-task and juggle schedules and priorities. The position requires a stable computer, high-speed internet, and excellent cell phone reception. (phone will be provided)
The position will be full-time (35+ hours per week). Typical work week is Monday-Friday 8am – 5pm. Work hours may vary seasonally.
Wages are competitive and will be determined by your education, experience and job performance.
